Bingo

Description

Students get a bingo sheet, and write the target English randomly in each square. The teacher calls out the target English and the students mark off each square. When they get a complete line, they get one point.

Notes

Using small cards instead of drawing on a worksheet can help the game run for multiple rounds. The students can put each of their cards into a grid, and turn over the matching card when it is called rather than check a box.

A simple adaptation to traditional bingo is to combine it with the timer game. The students will fill in their bingo cards or arrange their cards in a grid (whichever way you play) before starting the game. Another option would be to print out a few versions of different combinations. Anyways, the timer is set to say 30 seconds and you start the repeating process. The last word called when the timer goes off is the one the students circle. This way the students are focusing on the blackboard and repeating several times instead of just looking down and maybe repeating just one vocab.
